The “EduS4EL” workshop
EDUS4EL WORKSHOP PROGRAMME: DOWNLOADABLE PDF – LINK
The “EduS4EL” workshop, a training laboratory specifically aimed at high school students, was held in Ludwigsburg, Germany, from September 10 to September 12, 2025. The main objective of the event was to promote and strengthen the environmental literacy of the young participants.
To achieve this goal, the instructors adopted an innovative teaching methodology. This was based on the practical application of statistical and probabilistic tools, which students learned to use to analyze environmental data and phenomena. Supporting this approach was the systematic use of digital gadgets provided by CODAP (Common Online Data Analysis Platform), a free, web-based software platform designed to facilitate data analysis and visualization in educational contexts.
Nineteen young students from three different European schools took part in the workshop, creating an international and collaborative environment:
- Nine students came from the Liceo Scientifico “Claudio Cavalleri” in Parabiago (near Milan), Italy. They were accompanied by their teacher, Manuela Cordani.
- Six students represented the Liceo “Tito Sarrocchi” in Siena, also in Italy. This group was led by their instructors, Nadia Cacelli and Valentina Arru.
- Four students arrived from the Instituto de Educación Secundaria (IES) Alba Longa in Armilla (in the province of Granada), Spain. Their supervising teacher was Cati Barriga.

Transnational Meeting May 8 and 9, 2023 in Ludwigsburg
The main objective of this meeting was the joint discussion on the different experiences by the project groups in Italy, France, Spain and Germany during the first pilot phase of the EduS4EL project. While the French group was mainly reporting on the elaboration and development of a Chatbot for students and adults devoted to Environmantal Literacy, the other groups described school interventions on the topics of “Critical Thinking on Environmental Issues” and “Argumentation and Decision Making on Environmental Issues based on Data”.
The meeting thus created bridges between the groups and offer constructive comments on the pilot studies that have been carried out under different conditions.
A musical programme closed the meeting on May 9.
