Rector Jörg Kessler’s Welcome – Multiplier Event in Ludwigsburg November 7 and 8 – 2023
Prof. Dr. Jörg Kessler, Rector of the Ludwigsburg University of Education, welcomed the working groups of EduS4EL before the start of the Multiplier Event.
Valentina Grasso: “Environmental Literacy in schools: The programs of LAMMA in Italy“
Valentina Grasso is a member of the CNR and of LAMMA. She specialized on Science Communication and is the main coordinator of the programs organized by Lamma aiming to inform school students about environmental phenomena and actual dilemmata. Her talk described precisely these programs demonstrating best practices for making youngsters aware of their relevance.
Young generations and Climate Change – Noah Maurer.
Noah Maurer, master student from Ersamus University at Rotterdam and former member of Friday for Future, with a bachelor Degree from the Universitry of Den Hague on the topic of governance and sustainability, discussed the advantages of democratic systems with regard to tackling climate change and the role of youth’s protests in this context.
Alberto Ortolani: “The Mathematics for predicting Extreme Weather Changes“
The physicist Alberto Ortolani, both member of the italian CNR and of LAMMA, gave a talk on the Maths and Physics of “extreme events’ prediction”. He defined extreme events mathematically and also presented the system of primitive system equations that are used for modeling atmosphere phenomena.
Benjamin Tempel: Sustainability, CAT-based measuring of knowledge, motivation and action.
Benjamin Tempel is a member of the Biology Department of the Ludwigsburg University of Education. His PhD project if part of another Erasmus+ project at this University. In his talk he described an instrumment for measuring dispositions in the context of environmental hange.
